About Offkai
Offkai, derived from オフ会 (Japanese for “offline meeting”), is what online communities call meeting up in real life. For me, it was a way for our global community to come together a few times a year. I built this app because I’ve spent weeks helping organize offkais in Japan and the US, and I know how much work goes into the operations side.
This tool exists to reduce that pain so organizers can spend more time on the event itself. If you’ve ever attended an offkai with more than 50 people, you’ve seen how much time hosts pour into verifying attendees and their payments. It’s a wonder they do all this for free. Even so, they still build community and host memorable events.
As a thank-you to the organizers who give up their time to host these, this is a small attempt to give some of it back by simplifying the attendee verification and check-in process.
Offkai is built for events between 20 and 100 people. It’s not meant for businesses running large-scale events for free; for those, look at platforms designed for that scale.
